02fordsvt I'd rethread. I had to do it with my hatch (Zx3) and it wasn't that hard at all. Don't know about the wagon, but it had to be done in a limited time on a moving assembly line so it shouldn't be hard to do in your driveway.

whynotthinkwhynot First see if there is a place where you can splice the wiring together. Then I would suggest staggering the splices so that all are not bunched up in one spot. When you cut the old wiring out of the donor vehicle- be sure to cut as much as possible!

I'd think that cutting the wires would be the easiest thing to do.

Replacement hatch wiring, cut it or thread it?

An evil reddish brown monster has eaten some of my rear hatch, which has also been dented and scraped. I got a new one from another wagon getting parted out (spi fail ftw), and I'm wondering if it is best to cut the wiring harness near and splice all the wires, or try to re-thread the original wires through the new hatch. Will the be a problem with all those junctions close together taking up too much space?
