Surfacing the head lowers the CC in the combustion chamber making for higher compression

No... the 2.0 and 2.3 manifolds are not the same not even close , why install a larger engine then restrict its flow ?

lAj0828 This might be a dumb question but what do you mean by surfacing the head Tom? Also don't the d20 and d23 use the same intake manifold?

felixthecat Your adding a bigger port head on the same bore/stroke motor, so to see any hp, you'll have to spin it up. As you see, w/ that you'll see more hp towards the upper mid range. A little hp is there, you just have to spin it up. Have you ever drove a mx5, that'll give you an idea.

streetfocus Gotcha. Did you keep the D20 manifold?

12pohlmrob Yes it just moved the power band up to higher RPM's is all I noticed, but it didn't really inhibit my low end power at all. Not really 100% worth it, I expected more out of it.

streetfocus What is your review? Lost the low end? Just added up top or powerband shifted to peaky in the high rpm? Worth it or not really?
