YellowJellyBean I'm not 100% on whether or not the stock wheels are 7" wide, but it would make sense considering they come with 215 tires. 235 tires aren't really meant to go on wheels any narrower than 7.5", so I would not put them on your stock wheels.

BlueJay42 Yes I was asking for opinions and choices for tires to fit the stock 17in wheels (track) and the 17x7.5 (street) Is the stock 17in wheel 7in wide?...and would the 235/45R-17 be too wide for those rims? Seems like it should be close to me.

YellowJellyBean Is there a question hidden in there somewhere?

Thoughts on wheels

I have the 17in optional wheels on my 2012 SEL and I am considering setting them aside for track day/autocross wheels. I dont intend to get crazy competitive but looking at it more for the occasional fun factor. Maybe some max performance 200 UTOG rated tires?

For daily driving and better looks I'd like something in polished/machined or possibly chrome depending on design. I was looking through the "official aftermarket wheel thread" and saw a 2012 fitted with 17x7.5 wheels wrapped in 235/45R-17s and I loved the "fat tire" look!

I've seen many 18in combos but I know the very lo-profile tires give up a lot of ride quality, and since this is mostly a daily driver car, comfort level still factors in. I like the look of the Von Max VM1 in machined/black accent. Saw those on the Elites Wholesale site.

I'm very open for suggestions on tire choices/ recommendations, especially for good track tires that arent too much overkill for what I really need with a virtually stock car. Not really interested in lowering or other heavy suspension mods that will make the car horrid to live with in daily use.

Thanks guys!
