amc49 Thinking better to stay just under one volt, I hear one volt can be the cutoff limit, past that PCM assumes car is in off-idle mode and will be starting to change up A/F ratios from the pure idle one.

That means normally you don't adjust it, it goes in where the screws tighten it down at, the voltage will be correct if right part used. Of course that means if you don't have the correct TPS (ATX vs. MTX) you will have a problem, they do not go in in the same position and voltage will be wrong if using the wrong part.

.9 1.1 v is - voltage range you should see at idle position, as described above in more detail.

amc49 No exact number, thinking the range from .98 idle to 4.84 wide open, idle must be slightly under one volt. The PCM makes up for any slight variance, if TPS put in correctly it should be right. PCM recreates the absolute start and stop volts if switch in right. More important is measuring volts through the swing and no drops or jumps there at all, only smooth increase or decrease of voltage. Look close at idle and just off idle, the switch contacts spend most of the time around there and vibration wears the resistor track more.

Meaning the pure idle setting could vary from switch to switch and still run fine.

i have a 2001 ford focus se 2.0 16v zetec dohc vin 3
i need to know the voltage for the tps sensor while its closed
any help would be greatly appreciated
