The actual steps to perform if you want to text via MFT with your iPhone are:
1) Pair phone via bluetooth
2) On the phone, go to Settings -> Bluetooth -> SYNC -> Turn on "Show Notifications"
3) Disconnect and reconnect to My Ford Touch (just power cycle the car or the phone).
You should now be receiving text messages through My Ford Touch. Note that you are not allowed to send messages while the car is in motion, nor will it display the message though it will read it to you if you press the 'listen" button on the MFT screen when the alert comes in.

|sjdwales||ford are with contact with apple about this. gm made a deal with apple which it up with ford. i think there will be a sync update soon to sort the issue|
