GreySkorpion I just ordered the OEM mount from Village Ford and a Prothane dog-bone insert set. Even if the poly mount from Prothane makes no difference in feel, it needed replaced at 130K, and is a nice little upgrade over stock.

Thanks to all those with positive comments and suggestions!

Sorry, Ive never been in a car with an auto and a poly dogbone, so i cant say for sure..I would assume it would though.

lol and then no such luck for a sts then (sorry if you said you had an auto, im used to thinking 2.3=st=manual, always forget the 03-04s came in manual/auto)

amc49 They move those prices around to either high with current most used parts to lower for older ones in less demand. I remember when the earlier zetec ones were that high.

Village Ford has beat every single price request I have made, over the other highly touted go to source people here and fj like to use. They are 100% the only place I will buy OEM from here on out.

And for what it is worth, I have a 2.3, that passenger mount alone is $40-$50 more than any 2.0 passenger mount. Until Friday, cheapest I have been quoted from a dealer is $130, Village Ford hooked me up on one for a hell of a deal!!

For my daughter's 2007 SES the OEM cost was $80, EBay lists the DEA for $32. So a significant savings but not seven times.

I have seen both good and bad reports about DEA, but due to the wide range of install techniques and driving environments it's difficult to draw a firm conclusion.

Time to change just the passenger motor mount? Well if you start with driving into the garage and end with cleaning the tools and putting them away, say 30-45 minutes.

For me it's a 170 mile trip to do the repair. I did not want any fitment issues and did not want to revisit the issue for another 80k miles, so I replaced all three mounts with OEM parts. Took 2 hours.

JüstCantFocüs A few told me awhile ago to just buy oem for that mount, not sure why. I would just go that route. Good luck Jon :)

Thanks for trying to be funny. It was you that used rubber "donuts" from a old attic ceiling fan to put in your motor mounts wasnt it??? Yeah, great concept there. You also build your own computers but cant figure out how to post a picture from your camera because you dont have a cell phone. If you have nothing to add to my question, then please dont comment.
