|beansfocus||Idk how your turbo is setup but on my Garrett the turbo has an inlet and outlet for the coolant so I cut the heater hose going from the motor to the core and have it enter the turbo and then exit the turbo|

|NJSVTGUY||The coolent doesn't gravity drain from the turbo. The retun line does not have to be lower. That's how a stock GN is routed.... the return runs higher. Another option is to use an air cooled PTE turbo, that's what I run.|

I tried to tap lines that had some distance or hardware between the tap points to provide some flow (pressure differential) through the turbo. The 'turbo by garrett' site provided some good insight to the ideal angle the fittings shoule be at to provide maximum thermo siphon effect. http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbob...il_water_lines
Of course with a bearing turbo, you probably don't need the H2O cooling...my e-bay crapper turdbo needs all the help it can get...

OEM turbos are the most common to use coolant and oil from the engine.
I'm not sure where you could drain to but it's such a small line it might be fine to run it up to the coolant reservoir. I'm not very familiar with the engine but there must be an easy spot to tap a hole close to the pump or along the pressurized side of the system

water cooling turbo?
First of all, I would like say either I can't do one of the simplest tasks, or I've found a question google searches and focus fanatics searches can't answer.
That being said, has anyone tapped into their water lines to cool their turbo? I have a ball bearing turbo and didn't cool it at all last year and never had problems considering I have a pump to pull all the oil out of the turbo when I shut the car off so it doesn't cook.
I have a good idea of where I can tap into for the feed line, but I don't really know where I should drain it too since the turbo sits so low. Any insight whether how to do it or if it's even worth my time would be greatly appreciated
