pcordes1979 This wasn't done "today" but on Saturday afternoon.

Finally did the front brakes on the car to follow up the rear disc conversion a couple weeks ago. Centric rotors, Akebono pads, stainless steel hoses to match the parts used in the rear disc conversion and also MK2 calipers which are lighter than the MK1.5 front calipers and the pads are a little bigger so hopefully will help with braking a little and have no external spring like the MK1/MK1.5/MK3 calipers have. And before you ask, no, SVT fronts are not an option unless you are going to be buying me a set of 16"+ rims and tires and a set of 16"+ winter tires and rims. Also despite having 71K miles on the front brakes the pads look like they could have lasted another 5-10K miles but sort of had to do it now as the passenger rotor seemed warped as was getting vibrations through the pedal when braking.

Previously did a write-up of the MK1.5 and MK2 front caliper differences here: specifically post #12

Sasdaly Well not officially today but over the weekend I shortened my focus shifter, replaced radiator, did front brakes. That all went well, then moved on to gfs escape. Not so good, think its time to get her something else

BluePanda no drive yet -- family just left this morning...

BUT, in other news I just watched a lovely hail storm bounce off the car. :P

At least not as bad as other areas of town -- full 1-1.5" round pieces. We maybe go nickle sized? Still raining we shall see.
