Good luck with your project

Your car came with sluts? I have never seen that option before! My wife probably wouldn't be happy if my car came with those....lol
And yeah, your SES didn't have side airbags as stated above so that wouldn't work, plus I have nothing to swap because the Corbeaus aren't going to be wired for anything. Thanks though! :)
As for the first two replies, I will take all of that into consideration. My understanding of the cheater plugs is that will still allow the remaining front airbags and pretensioners to function properly because the system "thinks" the side airbags are still intact. So if they were to "blow", the cheater blows instead.
As for using non-ST '05 module, the problem I see there is that the "new" module still has to be programmed to the car and the Ford Dealer isn't going to program it to my car with the airbags removed. I wouldn't think so anyways. Otherwise I think that's probably the best option I have heard so far. Expensive, but best option. Anyone have any expereince going with this method?
Things like this were a lot simpler in my tRacer LTS. I put MX3 seats in it with no issues and it was the single greatest upgrade I did to that car.

I did it... 2002 SVT seats in my 2005 zx5 SES. I swaped the pigtail of the 2005 seats to the 2002 ones. Swaped the belt lock and sluts and swaped the gel pad from the passenger seat of the 2005 in the 2002 seat. No airbag light, (ABS-Traction) control works and everything is fine
note : I don't have standart side airbags so I don't know if it's gonna work well.
Took 3 hours with a friend who works in a Ford dealer. (taking the seats out of the car + work with the wire plugs swap + airbag gel sensor swap + put it back in the Foci)
Best upgrade I did to my car

|Buickboy||I believe you can swap the gel pad over and use an airbag module from a car that didnt have side airbags from 05 (S SE and SES sedans didnt come with them unless added as an option with ABS). Otherwise Ive read a bunch about buying the cheater plugs for an explorer and cracking them open to wire in a resistor (~2 OHM seems to work for the 05-09 mustang guys)|

I can only tell you what I have learned from my own experience. I installed '03 SVT seats into my '05 ST. I learned that if the air bag light is on, none of the SRS works. No air bags, no pre-tensioners. If your '05 ST came with side air bags, (I believe they all did) the SRS module, beneath the center console, must sense '05 side airbags before it will activate the SRS. There is also a seat position sensor on the driver side seat track which is esential to the operation of the SRS. I did, in fact, put the '05 passenger seat pressure sensor into the '03 SVT passenger seat, swapped the '05 side air bags into the '03 SVT front seats, and put the seat position sensor from the '05 onto the SVT driver seat track. It was a lot of aggravation, and took many weeks to figure out the wiring for both the '05 and the'03 SRSs.
RoosterST here on FF, posted a wiring diagram for the '05 SRS. If you can't find it, let me know and I'll get you a link to it. Finally, as you may already know, the SRS (air bag) light can not be read, or reset by just any OBD II scanner. Ford dealers have the necessary software, but because of liability and federal safety regs, are very reluctant to do much with the SRS. There are some independent shops who have the special software, and may be amenable to reading your codes, and clearing them once the issues are fixed. I did look into the simulators which, I'm sure you know, are sold for "off road use only". I found several places from which to order them, but chose not to risk being injured, or liable for injuries to a passenger on account of not having the SRS. Good luck.

Aftermarket Seats & "The Airbag Light" 05+?
Okay, so after spending hours reading through threads about this that and the other thing both on here and FJ on installing aftermarket seats I'm starting to wonder if I have made a big mistake....
I just today paid for a "new" set of Corbeau A4's with brackets from a FJ member and got a heck of a deal on them. I have always wanted "racing" seats and since the side bolsters are starting to wear out on the seats in my '05 ST I figured now was as good of a time as any. Unfortunately I didn't think that the airbag situation was going to be as big of a deal as it has become. I just figured I wouldn't have side airbags anymore. No big deal.
That having been said, I plan on using the stock seat belt and buckle harness, so I know I won't get the "seat belt nanny" warning. I am however worried about the front airbags not working. Not so much that I am concerned for myself but because I know my wife will probably be concerned about the fact that A) the light won't turn off, and B) we do occassionally have reason for our oldest son (9) to ride in the front seat. I have been in 2 rollovers in my life and neither time had airbags. I hit a few deer head on in my old Taurus and the airbags never even deployed so like I said, I have little concern myself.
In the threads I have read there is mention of switching over the pass side pressure sensor, I am pretty sure that is the route I will end up going to make sure that the pass side airbag is turned off when appropriate. However, doing so becomes useless if I can't find a way to make sure that the system is tricked into thinking the side airbags are still intact. There seems to be some debate whether the front airbags will even ignite if the airbag light is on. Furthermore, all of the workarounds I have read up on either seem to work for some and not for others, or utilize parts that no longer exist (or are for 04 and earlier models). I can't seem to find a model number for a 05+ simulator and even the 04 and earlier one seems to be discontinued. I have read nothing but negative things about AirBagSystems and don't want to spend money on something that's not going to work anyways, especially considering people have said they've had a hard time getting their money back when it doesn't work.
Surely I cannot be the only person with an 05+ that wants to put aftermarket seats in and either A) still retain front SRS, or B)doesn't want that light there as a constant reminder of their "impending doom". lol
