GronkDaSlayer Don't know yet for the ST since I bought it last week but here's what I use for my track car:

Royal purple synthetic, 10-30 IIRC
Or
Mobil 1 synthetic oil for trucks.

It gets expensive after a while since I change the oil after 2 track days but my motor is pretty happy and so is the turbo I added to it :)

I've never heard of Pennzoil Ultra. I found their page http://pennzoil.com/motor-oil/pennzo...synthetic-oil/

It looks like the ST takes 5W30 oil
according to the PDF from the pennzoil page the NOACK of their 5W30 oil is 11.9

There are two links on that page to buy the oil. the 0W40 and the Euro formula. The link for the 0W40 shows a single quart bottle and it costs $54.19 I think that can't be for a single quart. I searched google shopping and there was an ebay link selling 5 gallons (20 quarts) for $129. So that works out to $6.50 a quart.

on Amazon they have the 5W30 in a 6Pk (one oil change for us) for 51.95 ($8.66 a quart). They also have the 0W40 at $13.09 a quart.
You could go to wallyworld for the jugs better pricing.. What makes the penz oil cleaner then Mobil 1?

Elizabeth I love to read oil threads. The fringe and NOAACK numbers are totally a roaring laugh.
Anyway, I just would say Mobil One is a huge billions $$ company and they sell endless quantity of oil. No websites dedicated to "how Mobil One ruined my car' except in threads like this as innuendo.. and claims it sucks by folks 'selling' some strange brand made by virgin prima donnas on the moons of Jupiter.
Which naturally makes it a superior product. After all they post NOAACK numbers..LOL

Anyway Mobil One suggests the Extended life oil 5W30 for the ST. I wonder if that is only to cover the extended interval? Or is the oil better? (it does have the GM 'dexos 1' rating.)
I went and looked at the Mobil One site.
The Mobil One Advanced Fuel economy oil in 0W30 also has the dexos 1 rating, and Ford fill comment.
The Advanced has lower metal (Zinc Phosphorus) numbers than the extended interval, and a lot lower than the Euro spec oil.. (Just to compare things I know nothing about)

RS-wagon Did I say M1 5w30? I said M1, How ever I may for safety of my engine I may use a different synthetic oil. but never pennz. Maybe Val syntec.

For the love of god, you don't read well do you?

My claims are for Mobil 1 5w30 on turbo vehicles only.

I showed proven data. I don't give a shit if you used different weights on different vehicles for different purposes.

If someone wants to run Mobil 1 5w30 and send in a used oil analysis to see how much it shears, please do so for the sake of data collection. Tom and I both agree about running the more durable oils.
