I guess i'm one of those weirdos that thinks the exact opposite on stuff like that. I like the red better because it looked more completed. A random black part like that to me says you purchased a generic decorative part and threw it on as is because you were too cheap or too lazy to paint it to match.
That's true too actually. .. I guess it just depends if it was done up nice. I actually don't even pay attention to the RS. Is it usually color matched or contrast?
