Purchased from odessa*cylinderhead

Well, I decided to roll the dice and go with Odessa*Cylinderhead on eBay; they have been scantly discussed on the forum, if at all. The item is here http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-FITS-FOR...2d8d3e&vxp=mtr. They were one of two operations I could locate offering the newly cast aftermarket heads. I decided I wanted a new one and the other one, J&C Enterprises on eBay, who IS discussed in this thread, was out of stock. And I want to do this the first weekend in August. So Odessa!

The shipping-from location is Clearwater, FL. But their store http://stores.ebay.com/odessa-cylind...p2047675.l2563 is definitely distinct from that of Clearwater Cylinder Head, so I guess they are different operations. Who knows. They had a lot of highly positive eBay feedback, including from a few people who recently purchased an aftermarket SPI head, so I'm not much worried.

Anyway, I'll let you know how it goes.

Where to buy a cylinder head?

Hi guys, I am a newbie here at FF with a 2000 Ford Focus SPI with 127,000 miles. The thing is running great, but I too have decided to preemptively change the cylinder head out. So I am shopping for a replacement head that, obviously, is constructed/repaired with good valve seats.

The three main sources discussed on the forum seem to be these three:

1. J&C Enterprises http://stores.ebay.com/J-and-C-Cylinder-Head-Exchange
2. Clearwater http://stores.ebay.com/Clearwater-Cylinder-Head-Inc
3. Cylinder Heads Intl www.headsonly.com

Bumping this to get more opinions and maybe feedback from anyone who has used these guys. Maybe somebody has purchased from one of these guys recently, and can say a good or bad word about them? Or has more thoughts on whether it's worth a little more scratch to get a newly-cast head instead of reman?

Of course J&C sells both reman and newly-cast heads, the other two remanufactured only.

Donnyd21 $225 is valves only, swap over your cam, lifters and rockers (easy to do), the $275 is the complete ready to bolt on head. If you need pistons and/or rods I have some for yours motor if your are damaged.

No you cannot replace the valve seats by yourself

Thank you, sir,
Headsonly have $225 and $275 heads, is the $225 one good to go ?
