|e50095||Yes sir......I'm back on the road. I couldnt get the pin out, so I went to the Ford dealership and spoke to a mechanic I found in the parking lot. I showed him what I had, and he fixed it for me afterhours on his own time by putting a grade 8 bolt in with a high quality nut and thread locker. Charged me $20, I gave him $30. I put it back in and I'm rolling again. Can't thank you enough for the advice. This site has saved my bacon several times now. You're the best....|

Yes, like I wrote I used a 6mm allen socket screw. A standard hex headed bolt in the right size will not fit. A Phillips screw or flat head screw in metric will work if you can find it. You will not find an SAE size bolt to fit.
I suggest the 6mm x 1.25 x 30mm length with a nylock nut, or blue thread lock and a standard nut. A 4mm allen is required for the 6mm allen socket bolt.
I wouldn't use red if I were you. What happens if it breaks halfway, and you want to remove it later? There won't be space there to cut anything. Blue you can remove, and it will hold in that position.

|e50095||awesome man...I'm back in business....off to the hardware store to get a high quality bolt and some red to lock it in forever. Do I simply punch out the 2 pieces of the pin?|

|whynotthinkwhynot||OH, and yes a clutch can do that, but it's rare. I have seen springs come loose and get stuck in the pressure plate preventing it from engaging. It could've locked it up the other way so that the pedal wouldn't go down. In this case, the pedal was floored. It was obvious that the clutch was the problem.|

Look at the gate, you're not moving the slide that moves the gear. The gate should be easy to figure out. You symptoms are shift tower damage, not clutch, if it was the clutch, you'd be able to feel the shifter going into gear.

|e50095||I appreciate you expertise on this. I got off the interstate and came to a stop at the end of the off ramp. Light changed, I tried to put it in gear and the engine just revved. The shifter felt free. I could move it to try to put it in any gear, but it would not engage. It was stuck in neutral, so I drifted off the road and called the rollback. When I move the counterweight back and forth, the shaft turns, but not the piece with the pin sticking out of it. Does that mean the pin is broken inside?|

You see that collar that the pin is in- that pin should be flush with both sides. It appears to be broken by your picture although it might look like it is in place. Does that collar move with the big weighted shift arm, or does it stay still. Have you checked to see if you were able to move the pin in the shift selection area?
Furthermore, are you stuck in a gear or neutral- did you check when you removed the shift tower?
What were your original symptoms? Describe what happened?
