sailor mr.paz - you list your model as a mkIII, this section would be a better place to discuss mods. to it:

The section you're looking at is for duratec engines through '07.

mr.paz Is there any specific size mower filter that works best? Or just gerry rig anything I can find?

jetrinka I actually did the same thing, with the lawn mower fuel filter. Caught any oil vapors that might travel backwards during low vacuum conditions. Seemed to work well.

metallicnotazx5 That's why I put my filter inline and kept the original path of the tubing, on the breather not pcv

jetrinka Actually that tube is the intake side for the PCV system and a filter shouldn't be put on there. The air going through that tube is metered first by the MAF and if you take that tube off, block off the intake port and put a filter on the valve cover, that air being sucked in would be un-metered. It would be a small amount and the car would compensate for it, but it still wouldn't be right.

metallicnotazx5 Removing emission devices is a federal offense and state offense in Texas.

The state fine is $25,000

The federal fine is $2,500 and jail time.

Have fun :)

Also the breather is a pressure style on a focus. All you'll do is be blowing blow by all over your engine bay.

I was having issues with oil on the throttle body plate, so I cut a piece of the line out and slide a lawn mower fuel filer in line and secured it with 2 hose clamps. 6 years later I've not had to clean the throttle plate once

Kipp the worth while intakes will have the connection for that hose on them.

en_focus Alright... Thanks for the info

wrc_fan No need on a near stock car. Important to update the PCV routing with a turbo car.

en_focus I was planning on slapping on an intake for starters and I had heard about a couple of people doing it so I didn't know if there was much of a benefit from that
