Every Focus ATX I've driven will pretty much exhibit the clunk of a loose dogbone you can easily feel by rocking power going on and off while driving, I'd think MTX would show it even more pronounced.
Easiest way I've seen to tear the bottom rubber out of pass side is to strike or jump a curb or bump something with wheel on that side to come to a sudden stop. The mount only thing holding engine from moving front to rear, it easily rips out doing that from engine inertia. Pretty goofy to engineer that mount without a front/rear restraint link built into it, the Japanese certainly don't.

|tmittelstaedt||Check the torque mount, though. I suspect that many passenger mounts are broken by excessive flexing in the torque mount. if you get under the car and the torque mount is bad you can rock the engine back and forth with your hand and see it.|

I agree with this, the passenger side is known to go bad. If seen them split in two before.

There is controversy regarding motor mounts
Some say go to Ford for all three
Alot will say, Go to Ford for passenger side, the other two can be aftermarket
Only a few will say aftermarket is good for all three
IMHO go to Ford for all three
For the replacement procedure search for motor mounts in this forum
Maybe others will chime in

When did you last replace your mounts? How many did you replace if not all three and which ones?
Did you purchase this mounts from Ford or from somebody else?

2000 Ford Focus ZTS
I have a 2000 Ford Focus ZTS 2.0 4 Cylinder DOHC Engine with a Manual Transmission.
My Engine is shaking and causing my entire car"mainly the dash" to vibrate. I dont know if its the engine mounts or not. Could the mounts being improperly mounted cause this problem???
