garate55 I have this issue now. I can't even start my car, just washed it before work too. This is frustrating. I have 72,000 on mine so maybe it's time for a new car. A Tesla perhaps?

The problem with this is in my experience here in Australia. It was such a bad experience to deal with the dealer simply because they were not knowledgeable of the problems, and were resistant in accepting any other view than their own until I brought Ford Australia into the discussion.. If this happens now that mine has been fixed. All I can say is, I feel sorry for that dealership, and Ford in general, because I will go nuclear in my response to the poor treatment I received the first time!

sailor The first situation is a known common symptom of the TCM issue, your current one is a "gremlin" that I haven't seen a match to for a possible guess.

Samurai_Chris All fixed now. After telling the dealership what the problem was, they just said I had a bad battery. So after then going to Ford Australia, explaining the problem, they too stated that it was the TCM and that it was covered to be replaced. They gave the dealer a good kicking, and they accepted to fix it. However on pick up, they still maintained that it was the battery.. My god, these people do this everyday to poor customers that deserve better..

Samurai_Chris Hi from Brisbane Australia. I am having the same problems also. "Parking Aid Malfunction. Service required"

I have been struggling with it for a week. Took it in to be serviced yesterday, and they told me that everything was fine, and if there was any problem, then it is because my battery needs replacing. In their report they have stated that my battery that is meant to be at 590 cranking amps, is actually only 279? Knowing that my battery was fine, and they are just looking to make some dollars I took the car home..

My wife went to start it again last night, only a few hours after the service and it came up again, wouldn't start? Got the RACQ to come out and help me, and they checked the battery, and it was reading 525 cranking amps.. This one had him, and the state technical guru scratching their heads..

So took the car back into Ford this morning, and they kept giving me the battery story and then when they said they would check the systems again, expected me to pay again for it, to which I refused... So now I am going to contact Ford Australia head office and have this issue raised, as if this happens with the wife and kids in the car, then from what I have heard it is simply dangerous..

reminimjer My 2012 focus left me stranded 70 miles from home in 95 degree heat due to transmission failure. Starting up a small hill the car did its standard horrible transmission jerking and stuttering then the car went into neutral and just revved up. Pulled to the side and shut the car off and then the car wouldn't start up again. 'Parking Assistance Sensor Failure. Service Required'.
I have 65k miles on the car. I already had to have the transmission rebuilt with <25k miles on it. I took the car in a few months ago to get the transmission rebuilt again to address the constant violent jerking/shuddering at startup but the dealer (York Ford, Saugus MA) insisted nothing was wrong. A few months later I'm stranded on the side of the road due to transmission failure. Had to have my car towed 70 miles to the ford dealer.

This is on top of having my fuel tank replaced with <1000 miles on it, horn failure (twice), cruise control intermittent failure, window button failure for driver and passenger. This is unacceptable. The fuel tank failure was another good one - Fuel sensor reading 1/4 tank of gas and I ran out of gas. Meter said ~80 miles left on the tank. Unacceptable.
