I would say you are probably right.. I'm sure it's just a faulty butt-dyno diagnostic.

I'm going to buy a proper filter next month, hopefully. My funds are tired up in other things at the moment.

Since you've had yours off for 83,000 miles, I'll probably take mine off tomorrow just to see what it sounds like.

Indeed, I am.

Disconnected the battery for a few minuets and took the car on a 20 minute ride. I reckon I'll find out tomorrow or Tuesday if my low end torque picked back up.

Of course as I've said in my past several posts, I'm not swearing to the fact my Foci has lost low end torque - it could all be in my head.

EDIT.

geonath Hello. I just had to create an acount just to tell you guys that it actually works. I'm a believer in this mod. Iīm From Colombia, and in the city I live, we have lots of hilly roads, and the launching the Focus from a stop on a hilly road was a PITA. It bogged and I had to reengage the clutch so it wouldnīt stall. Cars like chevy Sparks launched better than the FOCUS.

I bought the AEM dry filter and did the Snorkel delete. And I got a new car. Now it launches like a real car should. It doesnīt bog anymore. I didnīt notice any change in the engine sound however.

Thank you Dyno for this wonderful MOD. I was about to change my FOCUS for a mazda 3 SA, but now iīm going to keep it :).

The snorkel delete took me about 20 minutes to complete, including changing the filter.

I have a 2013 MT FOCUS

Gi_Jo_Nathan You're still running the airbox lid?

AmericanCaveman I haven't disconnected my battery yet to reset the computer, but I believe I will for sure today. I took the car for another drive today and I'm convinced I've lost a little low end power after taking off the snorkel.

Of course, it could all be in my head. You guys know how reliable butt dyno's are.

is there a mass air flow sensor also involved? I think I have seen that mentioned on cold air intakes from the aftermarket.

AmericanCaveman How much horse will I gain when I put a Magnaflow sticker on my Foci? Ten horse?

FFhb13 What about the horsepower gain from the stickers, bitch?! That huge AEM decal on top of my stock airbox gives an extra 3.5hp to the wheelzzzzzz

Mmmmm... I think the biggest gain was about 8hp gain max.
You are forgetting the extra 20 to 25% gain it gets by going over the internet.
