Right, if you are using the tubes that come from the front of the car for air intake, then the snorkel delete helps... if you have removed those double tubes and have an aftermarket intake, then the snorkel does nothing, you probably should be removing it when replacing your intake anyway... And there are pros and cons to removing the factory air box as you'd be losing the factory CAI.

dbsimms63 Don't get me wrong, but why do you need to take the snorkel out if you replace the stock air box with a closed system intake? I replaced my airbox with my K&N Apollo and I didn't touch my snorkel.

No it is not the wrong thing and is definitely now part of the front end facshia.
it now has 5 torx bolts and two push pins. pull the hood cable out of its' holder and you get about 2 inches of lift out of it.

I just held it up with a roll of duct tape.

I was able to get a small screwdriver and pull out the top of two pins, the third pin I used brute force with a long cabinet flat head and popped it out.
Use a little force and pull the snorkel out.

Reassemble, start car and rejoice in your mastery.

If a guy can do it so can I.

Yes definitely part of front end. I could see the bumper flexing as I pulled on the shroud. I just pulled the shroud back, had a buddy hold it, and did my best to get those pins out holding the snorkel. I had to rip it out at the end, I couldn't get the last pin pulled

2015 Shroud

Thanks for the info.

But it would be hard pressed to get enough "lift" out to get a hand mush less a tool to pop the pins.

I only could lift this thing about two inches.
