chumlee Got to see and sit in the Forte today. It sure looks like they spent a great deal of time looking at the Focus. However on opening the doors and hatch the Forte did not feel as substantial as the Focus and the interior in my opinion is not as pleasing to look at and touch as the Focus. But Kia is offering HID, heated and cooled seats, heated steering wheel, 10 way power seat and cloth and leather buckets which is a nice compromise for performance driving. An extra 13 hp for their middle range 1.6 plant (173 hp) and a 201 hp 1.6 turbo. All for a few grand cheaper than a comparable focus. But in the end the only thing which would make me think about switching is the lack of a DCT.

Kevastator I really like the direction Chrysler is designing with their products, especially the 300, Grand Cherokee, even the new durango looks really good. And I actually really like the design of the 200, if only it's mechanicals could keep up with the style.. *sigh*

autolite Chrysler has there own way PT Cruiser, Prowler,Caliber 200 and 300 they went different then most some designs for the worst for sure but not a copy cat.

This.

Only somewhat original cars around anymore seem to be some GM products.

Bolto I think the new forte looks pretty good; the jump from the last gen Forte to the new one will be like the jump from the MKII to the MKIII Focus - less cheapy looking and much more refined and sporty looking.

It also has very similar looking tail lights to the Focus, but there's enough differentiation to tell them apart - the Forte looks more organic and alienish, and the tail lights swoop down. Either way, I like my HB better :P

I don't think there's any danger of getting the two confused...
