riparke SE manual controls, 65 mph on hi-way, outside temp 32 F, fan on 1, heat set to max on, air to dash vents, measured 170 F plenty hot. I am the one that posted heat when turned to cold.
No help from ford to fix so I installed a 4 port heater control valve from
http://www.thermotion.com/topic/18-e...rol-valve.aspx
with a dpdt center off switch in glove box (just want it in bypass for summer and open for winter, must be bypass and not cut off)

just ANOTHER example of dealer techs not knowing ass from elbow... WHY does ford not train these guys?

When i bought my car my dealer activated the DRLs at my request. Afterward i found out that all lights were on and not just
the headlights... so... as i bought my car at a (very good) dealer 60 miles away and didn't want to drive there for something
so simple as deactivating them, i went to my very close local ford dealer... They had the car all day when i got
a call saying that they can't figure out how to deactivate them and they were gonna charge me an hourly rate to
figure it out and do it (200+$!!). I said forget it and took it back to the dealer where i bought it.. It took all of
10 minutes for them to deactivate it properly.

Moral of story: some dealers suck or are inept... others are much better trained.

The heater seemed to work well again today. I do have a different question though. While checking for any reason why the heat may be odd, I noticed that little black circle/dot that is directly under the center of the windshield/on top of the dash material. What exactly (if anything) does it do? A sensor of some sort?
