TommyTooHi
one bummer...

I AM a smoker, and one punch too many to the element blew apart the plastic inner/outer retaining rings. So now, the entire unit is hanging by the power wires.

Ford wants over $20 US for the plastic bits. So, don't force the dang thing!

jdetzel Word of caution. You have to unplug things after you turn off the car.
The lighter sockets are not switched, so anything left plugged in can continue to drain battery power for as long as it is left plugged in.

Kipp for that money i'd rather just get a nice led maglite. i got this one from walmart for about $30 last memorial weekend and love it. extremely bright and lower power consumption since it's led. i use it fairly often and still on the same batteries.

also got this one for $15 that i keep with me all the time and use for work. has high, low, strobe, and sos modes. still on the origonal batteries as well and it gets used almost every day.

rambleon84 I am not sure why that light is $30 though, doesnt seem like it has some crazy output or battery life.

I'd be shopping around, lots of well reviewed ones on Amazon for much less $$:

^^ Haha. this

As for your question, just buy the light and see if it works. I have never seen or heard of any problem connected to a cigarette lighter plug. Furthermore, all cigarette lighters hare exactly the same so fitment will not be an issue.

Cigarette Lighter socket questions (for a flashlight)

So I was looking for a convenient flashlight for a camping trip and I somehow stumbled upon what it seems to be a flashlight that can be charged from the lighter socket. I've NEVER used it on my Focus, as I'm not a smoker and I don't really use it to charge my phones. I'm curious if any of you had any problem with the Focus cigarette socket so far.

cheers
