|Drovira14||Side note: I average about 22-23 mpg city/highway with premium (heavy foot)|

I have noticed that it really comes down to you as the driver and how you want your car to be.

As long as you're not in stop & go traffic (think NYC/Long Island Borough), you'll be fine. Not to mention, I manually shift the thing since the day I got it and I don't have any issues.
I will get the occasional Neutral rev hang up but that's about it. But that's as simple as throwing it in N and then S real quick.

|Miked1964||Ford did replace the clutch in my 2015 Ford Focus and I use nothing but premium gas. Car runs incredible now. There are still a few quirks now and then with the tranny but you have to remember this is a manual transmission in reality. Open highway I get around 38-40 mpg at 65 MPH. This is really a nice car. It's unfortunate that these transmission problems are bringing the value down.|

E85 if using sub octane fuel is still around the same octane rating as premium fuel with much less energy content per gallon than E10 premium. Hence the poor fuel economy and only incremental gains in performance.
Plus even the FFV models can't really take advantage of the benefits of E85 as they do not significantly alter the ignition timing to take advantage of the latent heat of vaporization of the Ethanol.

|SlowhiteJr||E85 is always better. E85 is the cheap man racing fuel. Regular to premium is about $3 a tank. It's not really that big of a difference|

|Jburks||dang, i get 25mpg with premium 92 octane lol.|

|okvol||Let me muddy the waters. I've tried E-10 92 octane, and it does run better. But my best performance is with E-85. My mileage drops to around 25MPG. But I autocross this car, stock engine, AEM filter. And the grunt off the corners is improved, and she keeps pulling all the way to the limiter.|

|Miked1964||I have recently started to just use premium gas. The problem with the hesitating tranny is gone, or at the very least very minimal.|
