focusmaniaczx3 eventually yes i will have a cage but for the time being no im not worrying with it. the car will get street drive enough that it will almost be my DD. hell it might actually wind up being my DD. for that reason the inconvenience of a cage will warrant its absence. when the car crosses the line where it spends more time at the track than it does one the street then it will get a cage.

blanezx3 Are you planning to weld in a cage?

focusmaniaczx3 tom that would be awesome. just need to get the time to button up a few things and we should be able to do it. hell i havent even got the boost gauge in there yet lol. those of you who saw the car know it looks a wreck inside and out. the drive train is the only pretty thing about the car. theres even a stick propping up the driver side window

however i have a svt at the house ive been partially parting out. plans are to swap both doors and hatch, full interior, side skirts, shifter, and maybe a few other bits from the svt to the zx3. this will make for a huge improvement not to mention power windows! just gotta get the time to do it. after that will come paint but for all i care the booger can roll around in primer. ive never been huge on the whole show over go thing.

focusmaniaczx3 i am very sad to say that i have barely had time to sit down with tom to even get started on a baseline tune yet. we started on it and had an issue with the wideband not reading right like there was an intermittent short and never got any further than that. i had hoped that things would settle down enough for me to have time to mess with the car over the last few months but truth be told things have gotten busier. my work has been bringing in temp labor left and right for months to try and ease my work load but everyone that they bring is either methed out of their gord, completely worthless, or just generally unsatisfactory to do the job so in mean time im having to pull minimum 72 hour work weeks to keep up. i cant even afford to take a sick day for fear of falling behind and when i do manage to eek out a weekend, which is very rare nowadays, friends and family go nuts and everyone wants a piece of me so i literally have to schedule my weekend out in order to see everyone and that leaves me no personal time to mess with the car. there are 2 things that im very glad about in all of this though. first im glad for my wife. if i hadnt gotten married and had her with me through all of this i dont know how i would get anything done at all. with me busy all the time i dont have time to get groceries, pay bills, do laundry, or even cook my own meals and she graciously does these things for me and has never uttered a single word of complaint. she also helps me get to sleep when i get home from work but *ahem* i dont think we need to go into detail as to how... and second im glad i bought my wee little kia soul. i was kicking myself for the first few months because i picked up a car payment again but im so glad for the little booger. ive had it for over a year now and ive never had a lick of trouble out of it yet. i would be completely screwed if i had to fix anything on this car because for one ive never worked on any kia ever before and for two when would i have time.

anyhow i know i know TLDR and all that but there is my long drawn out explanation nonetheless. the car is in about the same shape as it was the day it came back to me. ive done a few little things here and there and i feel like a solid weekend of messing with it would see it back on the road but until i get the time its going to have to continue to sit as bad as i hate it. i promise that this thread will be updated thoroughly when its done. there will probably be plenty of 4th and maybe 5th gear burnout vids if this thing is a traction pig as bad as im being told to expect.
