Nevin W This happened to me as well. I was parked in my work parking lot and someone smashed into the front fender and bent it as well as crumpled it. The headlight mounting brackets snapped, they smashed my bumper turn signal and put gauges in my bumper. Overall $2000 damage, and they took off without telling anyone...

Some Guy From NY Don't want to hijack the thread but this accident happened to me on the last day of november:

crack in bumper:

dent in fender:

what is left of my side view mirror:

scratches on door and hard to see gouge on the chrome window trim

gouge in my wheel:

A guy on a bicycle tried to beat a red light trying to get through a 6 lane intersection + 2 service roads on either side..welp he did not make it halfway through before plowing into the side of me, who had the green light/right of way. he FLED THE SCENE, well hobbled away. Cops came, did not even write a police report because he was gone. I still contacted my insurance and had a 100 dollar deductible through Allstate. Damage came to $1800. The bodyshop repaired the bumper instead of replacing it.

my car after repairs:

Deftmetal The fender is easy enough to change out but a paint match would be easier to blend in if the original can be straitened. If the dents are about four inches from panel edge then straightening and blending are easy enough

Darth_Focus Deductible is to high to make it worth while and damage is purely cosmetic. I've banged oit most of the dent and just have wavey metal now. Paint should buff back to life. I want to swap fenders in the spring

Here you go:

This is not an actual picture of the OP's car but rather it is a re-creation of the accident scene based on several eyewitness accounts.

misfire That sucks. Someone backed into my car last week and took off. Scratched up my back bumper a bit.

Depending on the deductible and the fact that he has to foot the bill not the other guy who left, it may be cheaper just to pay outright, or not worth going through the insurance to file an accident since the damage looks purely cosmetic.
