USARice

Finally installed. Pay no mind to the dirty worn out mat, that's what winter does.... I have a new set in the garage waiting for spring.

USARice May or June. Waiting for warmer weather. I won't post pictures until closer to voting time....not that I really think I will win this, I'm just using this as a pre-FF build thread more than anything, there's some guys on here with better builds going on than mine. A V-8 conversion without using a Kugel Komponents Kit, a Euro conversion.....me, I'm just getting my car to the level a lot on this site are already at, just doing some crazy paint. ;)

stealthzx3 Sounds awesome. Can't wait to see it both here and in person. When is this going down?

USARice Sort of.....its actually a clear MIDcoat. Does not require a color change and only gets dusted on before the final clear. Over silver it looks sweet.....over black it looks awesome! TS is already a metallic color so that makes this go even further. I saw this on a (basically) TS Bentley and fell in love. Tying this into my design idea it will be like nothing you've ever seen. Its not really glitter, its photoreactive.

stealthzx3 Is that gittery silver!? Haha. I would not expect that little paint to cover a car.

USARice Before the install (spaghetti anyone?);

After install;

Paint arrived! Yes, it doesn't look like much (only a Pint) but it goes really far since it's only a midcoat before the clear. It only takes a Quart to do any entire car, will work on the first part of the project first, if I like it I will do the rest of the car, plus a design I am working on.... (Shhhhhhhh!)

USARice Likewise. Well, I do know how to make a silver car shine and they say its one of the hardest colors to get a high gloss on. Honestly though the secret is time, a cheap buffer, lots of pads, and Maguires. Not the cheap stuff you can buy anywhere (although I do use Gold Class in between detailings and on any other cars I do) but their pro series stuff. And don't use a machine to apply. I always do one coat like Mr. Miagi says.....wax on, wax off. Makes a huge difference. Plus you really get to know every curve and crease of your car by heart and how each reacts to light differently. Again why I chose the effect that I did....to accentuate each of them. Can't wait to get a preview of what this will look like but take your time, no rush.

I'm sure you can see how that effect will depend on how clean and polished the paint is. ;) It will be worth it though I think just to see the looks on peoples faces. ;)
