Monkeygrits Im in the same boat as you but if I put the pad at the right spot on the console, my lower leg right below my knee can lean on it, keeping my knee off the handle.

JasDmw I've had knee surgery and the "sensitive" part of my knee rests just about on the release button of the brake handle. I did check this out on test drives and decided since this is my daily commuter, trips are short so it's not a huge issue. But if someone makes a decent cover, I'll be checking that out. Thaks for the links.

Edit; had a look and those pads aren't the answer for me; my leg bends at the console so these won't really adddress the issue I have.

Please...*PLEASE* let us see a picture of you and your wife. Preferably with the two of you sitting in the car.

Monkeygrits Just make sure you realize the triangular pad is one inch thick and the rectangular one is 1/2 inch thick. Im gonna sit in the car and see where my leg will sit.

Monkeygrits Its not a problem if your legs are straight and not bent at all. Im not sitting close but I am 6'3". Seat is back as far as it will go. I have plenty of room but if you go on a long trip, being able to rest you leg against the console is a plus. The way my leg is right now it barely touches the ebrake handle. That half inch pad would take care of it.

BlueIce How close are people sitting that this is such a big problem?

Console Leg Pad

Just wondering if anyone has installed one in their focus? My knee touches the end of the e-brake handle which i can already see is gonna get uncomfortable on a long ride.

Heres an example:

Heres the slim version:
