Kipp if you had the blaupunkt headunit stock then you will ned the VW harness. when wiring it you will need to reverse the constant and acc wires (wire red to yellow and yellow to red). you will also need the dash kit and the VW antenna adapter.

mainest As you probably know, there are harnesses available that adapt aftermarket HUs to many cars. Yes you can use butt connectors, but will likely get a better long term connection if you can find a harness. Soldering will also give you better connections than crimp connectors. Good luck.

Wire harness question

So I am going to put in a new head unit, I have the wire harness for the head unit and I'm wondering, do I need the focus harness as well or can I use the harness that powers the stock radio and use butt connectors so I can utilize the new harness? This will obviously be my first time installing a deck so I just want to make sure I have the right parts before I begin. Thanks
