Justinr666 was my mothers car, she bought it brand new in 08, she wanted a new car, had $5000 left on her financing through ford, i had a $5000 loan through a bank, so she sold it to me for the remainder of what she owed.

Costs a butt load.

When my mom bought her fusion from our neighbor that used to work at the ford dealer he threw on the extended warranty and rust protection on hers for next to nothing.

When I got my focus it was on the lot for $17k. 2011 ford focus, 15k miles, 1 owner. I got it for $14k and extended warranty for free. I am covered up to 75,000 :). Not from rust though!

It's so nice to know people. I only owe 10k on the car but it's still worth about $11.5k trade in. So not bad so far!

Must be nice buying a car that will last forever in the south lol

Justinr666 UPDATE. So i had time to take my focus to two different dealers, in two different cities, one being where my car was bought brand new, they both said, its my problem, not fords... its a design flaw thats not covered by any warranty aside from the 3 year, 60 000km warranty... and it would be about $300 for them to repaint it. I then showed the head guy at the auto body department the pre-mature rust forming on the bottom edge of my trunk, and he said that also wasnt covered... some bs from ford.

motodude696 There is a TCB on this, ford should take care of it. Keyword is should.

Justinr666 Thanks for the advice guys. I will take it to the dealer on my lunch tomorrow. But the ford dealer it was bought from has since went under. So hopefully another dealer will up hold the warranty. That is if its some what the same in Canada as the states?

2008 Ford Focus Like others, I suggest to take your car to the dealer for warranty service. I think your rust is premature. Nothing to lose by taking it in. It is not right that your focus is getting rusted so soon. Good luck. Keep us informed
