amc49 If it stalls everytime you let motor fall to idle motor may be dead. Indicator would be problem showing up all at once, carbon buildup generally gets bad to worse.

Magus2727 Its on the intake manifold. back side about middle. Below the TB and when installed on the motor above the starter. Its a PITA to get to but I have found its best to go from the bottom. you have to do most of it by feel and don't have a whole lot of room to swing wrenches so is a little slow going to back out the I believe 10mm (two) bolts.

Their is a write up IIRC on the cleaning of this. think you basically just use Carb cleaner and some Que tips and let it dry then re-install. hardest part is putting the gasket back on since you cant really see what your doing.

Iac valve

Hey guys

i have a constant stalling problem on my 2002 ford focus zx5. I am told the iac valve may be clogged. We cleaned the maf sensor but stalling persists

my questions is: Where is the iac valve located?? How do you access it -from the top or the bottom of the vehicle ---what tools do i need to change it and can the valve be cleaned? Please let me know as the car stalls at every stop i make

thanks guys

jeff in atlanta
