alaskanzx5 the issue with the stinger meter is its known to randomly fail and have to be readjusted. could always geta dakota volt meter. i personaly like the led display of the vm-1, has a faser response time. show a more accurate voltage drop compared to the stinger meter since the stinger cant react to the voltage drop and quickly as the vm-1 does. not sure how fast the dakota gauge works but ive heard good reviews on them. just another one of those you get what you pay for things in life.

IMO, I'd rather have a digital display as opposed to the analog of the VM-1. Everyone has their own tastes but here's a link:

Gazookz I have ran my 270A DC Power alt on my 2011 Focus for a few years now with absolutely no problems at all and it was a direct bolt-on fit (even though it required some work to remove the old alt due to the position, placement, and space). DC Power Engineering is another option that you should consider. The price is higher than others due to them actually using their own new parts and designing the parts. Every company has good and bad reputation depending on who you talk to and the situation.
Here's a link to the 2007 Focus alts for either 2.0 or 2.3L engines:

I would also recommend checking out Tenney, Excessive Amperage, Singer, Mechman, Irragi alternators like others have mentioned and also Ohio Generator alts as well.

its only a happy knob if you dont know what your doing. keep it at about 14-14.4 volts and while competing for those 30 seconds turn it up to about 14.4-14.8 then right back down. perfectly safe as long as you know what your doing. the point of it is to gain that small decimal voltage increase just enough so that i have less voltage drop allowing the stereo to work/play better for those few seconds then turn it back down. gonna have a voltage gauge hooked straight to the alt power and ground so that i am getting a direct reading from the alt and will have one hooked to my sub amp(s) to watch their voltage.

alaskanzx5 just wanted to put my 2cents in about singer alts.

i have got a 250 amp alt from him and had it installed for about 3 months, ended up with some issues including the alt smoking and the voltage just disappered. sent it back and got it fixed, the only cause we could find is that maybe the pcm wasnt working right with the upgraded alt. right now i have a stock alt in and the voltage is not steady by anymeans and i have had the stock alt tested and used about 2-3 different stock alts all with the same issues. right now im waiting to purchase an adjustable voltage regulator so i can reinstall the singer alt and see how it does.

the customer service is great and he always responds quickly to me. he is actualy holding on to my alt right now until i buy the regulator and he is gonna hook it up and set it to a stock setting. ive talked to him several times and he has had no problem with holding on the the alt for me.
