FordFocus3 Could very well be. Our 1.6 Ti-VCTs and 2.0 GDIs all get the single tube here. Supplied by Mahle Air Systems from the UK. All Saarlouis plant built Foci (apart from the ST and RS) have the single pipe. Even the 185hp 2.0 TDCI Diesel has the single tube.

That doesn't make it the most efficient because the engines have different design/displacement and therefore different volumetric efficiency. If it was the most efficient for the 2.0l then it would probably be installed and Ford would be getting additional profit from not having to design/manufacture a second box. I would be willing to bet that the dual inlet box on the naturally-aspirated engine is more efficient for its design.

Unfortunately it isn't small enough Rob, BUT there is a way around this. What you can do is;

1. Detach the OBD port from itself from the socket in which its in (2 tabs on the left and right)

2. And then connect the little OBD transmitter.

3. Let it dangle behind the dash

4. Close the door for that useless compartment

ChalupaJones I'll let you know soon as it comes in.

ChalupaJones I put in my wife's green filter while I was at it sooo from experience I'd say little to none. With the green filter there is a bit more noise but it's good noise.
