Krishilbun 2 o rings from dealer 6.75
Housing to head gasket 4.90
And some thermostat gasket maker

Krishilbun Rinsed housing out with hose wiped down with shop towels. Pulled sensor plus drain(?) plug. Got new o rings was like 6$ at dealer. Need to get tstat housing to block ring.. They give me tstat ring at auto zone :-\

edit; my fault for not looking. got correct one putting back together in morning.

Krishilbun Got housing off. What should I use to clean? Should I be careful of the thermostat in center?

Thanks. Kris

svtguy88 Another leaky thermostat housing.

I'm still battling with this on my SVT, but, like you, a larger problem made me put this on the back burner.

Anyway, I've had my housing out countless times, checked/replaced the rings, cleaned it, put *real* hose clamps on ("worm gear" clamps - not those terrible factory spring jobs)....and I STILL have a small leak somewhere on the bottom.

What's up with the Contour housing? That's a reference I've not heard before -- haven't been on here a lot lately...is that a new (well, for our cars) part? Last I checked, the only options were the factory housing and the big aluminum one that CFM (I think) makes.

Tell auto parts store what size hose you need one for and they will get you the appropriate clamp.

Before you do any of this make sure you take the coolant cap off to reduce pressure in the system. Best bet find out exactly were your leaking from and fix that.
Extremely helpful. Thanks for info.

Krishilbun Can u just unplug hoses and aim up and avoid draining system? Catch whatever spills at bottom.
Also I only got housing gasket. They had 4 rings listed thermostat, housing, sensor, and something else.. They only had thermostat +housing available. So Just got housing gasket. Someone mentioned a worm clamp? Not sure what that is. Which clamp do u recommend I replace? The larger of the hoses clamp?

Thanks Kris
