focusmaniaczx3 ok then so the optimal offset is probably going to be between 40 and 45. 45 will be aweful close to the shock but will tuck better and 40 will clear the shock with no issue but might rub pretty good. i ran 18x7.5's with a 42mm offset and they rubbed fenders a little but that could be solved by rolling the fenders. so ill try to find a set in 42mm or 43mm offset

YellowJellyBean For comparison, RS wheels are 18x8 et42.

TheGlassMaker I got 18x7.5 with 45mm offset and I miss the struts by a lil more than a quarter of a inch. They sit almost flush with the quarters. If you would like I can get a pic of the rim next to the strut. I could easliy tuck them and they turn lock to lock with no rubbing.

optimal 16x8 offset for my mk1

got a 2000 zx3 that im thinking about getting some fresh wheels for. i want wide wheels for wide tires because ive never heard anyone complain about too much traction. anyhow im just not sure what offset to run with. i know that a 225/50/15 on stock 15s (52.5mm offset) rubs the strut just barely and that is all im concerned about. so long as i can keep the tire off the strut im pleased but what offset would put me as close to the strut as possible without rubbing? i would like to tuck as much of the wheel under the fender as possible. a little poke isnt a big deal but i dont think i can flare the fenders out a full inch.
