Hello mr_cassandra,

Most of the individual car profiles have been condensed into one. You can post your questions or concerns here, in regards to your Focus.

j ferguson My guess is that my problem will turn out to be a bad connector which would explain why it only happens in rainy weather. But the service rep suggested the clutch so I thought I'd see whether the backlog issue had any merit. Apparently it does, but maybe if I need one, I'll get it right away.

I can hope.

I don't think its every single Focus produced but I no longer think its a small percentage of production, as many contended years ago on this forum.
You're right that we don't hear from folks who just dumped the car and/or are buying the party line from Ford that many of these symptoms are normal and/or they must be driving it wrong.

FWIW, the Ford facebook Focus page has been down for days now.

At 65000 miles, it looks like the clutch problem has shown up on my 2013 Focus. There are two symptoms. First is that although it starts fine, no coughing, no rpm hunting, on drive-away accelerator pedal has little influence on speed, car sort of moves ahead now a little faster, then a bit slower until it gets to about 20 mph. Nothing I do with pedal has any effect unless I take my foot off, then it slows down. After 5 minutes of this, it seems to catch on and then works more or less as usual although it seems to be confused about which gear it should be using.

if i drive ten minutes and park for a meeting, when i get out it will be ok, EXCEPT, if I put my foot in it at say 35 mph, the engine takes off, but not the car - symptom to me of slipping clutch or clutch not knowing what to do.

Local dealer says there is a monster clutch replacement program going on right now and I shouldn't expect to get a replacement clutch, if that is what the problem turns out to be, in less than 90 days.

This isn't so good. Suppose the car becomes undriveable next weeK? I can't imagine Ford giving me a loaner for a couple of months. Although the service reps at the local dealership and the techs seem pretty sharp, the owners are investors not car people. I haven't tested their sympathy for what might be my plight, but who knows, maybe they'll realize that I'm not unreasonable and if they are heroes about this, the world will hear of it. Or ....

Does anyone else have current experience with the "monster clutch replacement program"? Does it really take 90 days?

Gasp.

AND BEST OF ALL IT'S INTERMITTENT. I AM BEGINNING TO SUSPECT BAD ELECTRICAL OR DATA CONNECTION SOMEWHERE.
sorry to hear this, as the years have gone by, your posts with no problems were somewhat re-assuring that it wasn't everyone.
