prerunnerwannabe Oh, and I'm running the ram at 2933 MHz with 3200 timings (haven't tried tightening them up yet) and it's super stable. I just made sure to buy a kit of ram that was on MSI's compatible list on their website and hitting 2933 MHz was easy peasy.

prerunnerwannabe That's a baller HTPC! And even better now that you're converting it to Ryzen! I freakin love my r5 1600 BTW. Such fantastic bang for your buck. It was weird though, the auto voltage that my motherboard was feeding the cpu at stock speeds was like 1.45 volts. I have no idea why it was so high, but I stuck it to 1.35 volts and it's totally happy with that.

mix1983 Just redid my HTPC. Decided to have some fun an stuff an AIO cooler in a Node 202. I had to take the Dremel to the case but that's no big deal.

Nothing too big, just an i5 6500, 16gb ram and a 1050ti. I have the Biostar X370GTN ITX board in the mail to convert to Ryzen. Probably go with a 1500 or 1500X and bump up to a 1060 if I can find one short enough.

I'll tell ya though, the 1050ti is no slouch at all, I was very surprised.

mix1983 Overclocking wise, I'm a little bummed but maybe with time things will improve. 4ghz at 1.385v on all cores seems to be my max. I had 4025mhz stable for a short period and then I tried 4050 and now I can't get it back lol.

There is supposed to be some microcode coming to work on some of the RAM issues.

As far as gaming, I've had no issues at all. I completely forget what I'm playing on. For shits and giggles I ran a couple benchmarks before and while shrinking a Bluray in Handbrake. Just to see what it looks like to drag the system down. (I only had a 3.9ghz OC in these.)

Superposition (kind of a brutal benchmark)

prerunnerwannabe Dang, both systems look sick! The Portal/Aperture Labs theme is super dope :) It makes me want to get a new case and RGB all the things. . but I better not.
That's pretty weird that your ram is only going to 2400 MHz. I thought most of the Ryzen BIOS' had it figured out to where at least 3000 (or I guess 2933) was pretty easily achievable.
Keep us posted!

mix1983 It's not as flashy as my 7700K rig, but she's running pretty smooth after updating the BIOS. It was pretty shaky before that. I can only get my RAM up to 2400 before it starts boot-looping. Hopefully they'll have a better solution for compatibility soon. Literally just finished getting software installed/updated, I'll check back with how it does in gaming and stuff.

Borrowed the GPU from my 7700K for a few days while I decide on a temporary GPU to order until Vega releases.

Here's my 7700K in case anyone was interested.

mix1983 The plan was to use half of the 32gb of GSkill Trident Z RGB that is in my 7700k machine, just to save some money since RAM prices are bananas. But it seems like some folks have had theirs die in Ryzen systems, so I don't think I'm going to risk it. I guess I'm going to get some Corsair LPX 3200, like what AMD was sending with the review kits. They were sending some Geil lately with the R5 kits but I think it looks awful.

EDIT: I found some normal Trident Z I forgot I had. The heatspreader started to come off of one so I removed it. I just removed the other one for the sake of not looking ridiculous. So I'll try that before spending pointless money.

prerunnerwannabe Niiice. Let us know how you like it! What kind if ram/speed are you paring with the 1800X?
