|gondorian||Just an update for y'all. I ended up getting a locksmith come and make me two new keys. He cut them from the VIN and the programmed the chip by connecting his computer to the OBD-II. Cost a little over two hundred for everything. Of course then I found my key a few weeks after that.|

If you do not mind having your doors left unlocked just get another ignition cylinder.
Otherwise a locksmith can figure out the key cuts from an intact cylinder
Now for your PATS issue
There ARE locksmiths that do have a device that can connect up to your car's computer so that they can reset the electronic key codes
You are in luck that you are in Chicago so some locksmith should have it
When you do call them up you should initially state that you have the car's title, insurance papers and will show your I.D.
You need the following keys made:
Three smart keys, one of which gets hidden in side the car
One dumb key that gets hidden outside on the car someplace
Lose key, get dumb key to unlock the doors, use hidden smart key to get yourself home
If a crook finds the dumb key, he also has to find the smart key that might be hidden in a thousand and one places

Lost my only key (PATS)
So the other day I lost my one and only key I called the local Ford dealer and they said they can't cut a key from the VIN since my car was made more than ten years ago Do y'all have any ideas before I call a locksmith and pony up tons of money? (I already looked everywhere very thoroughly).
