I gotta say I love these forums. Sometimes it's a crapshoot on what a problem can be, but it's definitely nice to have searches and other people's input to help narrow things down.
We saved hundreds of dollars when my wife's ignition locked up, dealer wanted an absurd amount of $$ to get in a new cylinder and programming of it or whatever. Found out via the forums and everyone else having the same issue about a vendor, who, after giving the vin# would send you a new ignition cylinder set and coded to your key, which I installed myself for huge savings.

In shop now. They siphoned some fluid out, then ran codes and saw tr1702 for tr circuit or prndle or something... not there last week... could the overfill have caused that or is this not related?
+10 points for BC_ZX3 as i believe that is what he suggested with the transmission range sensor!
They said theyd diagnose for free, could be the sensor, a harness, wiring... have to bring it back to them next week.

How bad is overfill? And is this cause for concern?
One side shows just over max, and the other side a bit higher than that, consistently. Checked with car running.

If I took it to Jiffy Lube I'd have to punch myself in the face, hah.
So after that day of no reverse engaging it has engaged fine. But wife just called me, she was driving and said when she slowed down it would jerk forward, and when she pressed on gas to accelerate it would hesitate and jerk then go, the way she described it sounded like issues with the transmission changing gears. And she did mention it kicked her out of O/D.
I had her park and turn off the car. Turn it back on, and then she said it was ok...
That lend any more insight into what's going on?
Going to check fluid as soon as I get off of work, I called transmission place and told them what happened and that I'm taking it back in. He said he'd look at it but it wouldn't be from anything from their service... to which I responded all was good before service, we'll see.

As someone else higher up said, recheck fluid level, that alone could cause it.
I do not know necessarily on this trans but if hydraulics like many others, reverse requires more pressure than other clutch packs, often reverse acting up alone is a sign of pressure problem (even pump) that then extends to other gears shortly. Seen it on many different models. That's why you evaluate the 'going into reverse' bump when bringing a new ATX of any brand back to life.

I took it to a-affordable transmission in colorado.
After a 20 min drive to the parents i stopped on the street and reverse engaged fine. I need to see if manual 1st doesnt engage when reverse isnt working.
I called the shop and they said the viscocity change could have clogged a valve or something, and to drive it for a week and if it still does it then bring it in.
Thanks for the suggestions guys, updates to come...
