My 2012 SE manual tranny with sport package is now over two years in my possession.
My major metro area 1.5 million with a dozen Ford dealers did not have a single manual Focus (except some S models in grey or black)
I was annoyed the soft green color (glass) was NOT available in a hatch with the sport package. I would probably have the Glass color if it would have been. But I like my yellow baby.
I did a search within 100 miles and only ONE with manual. yellow, and SE with the sport package was available. It happened to have the black painted 17's.
So I caught the salesman online, and was there same day and bought the car.
The MTX75 is the same tranny I had in my prior ride (Ford SVT Contour I had for 13 years) So I am very familiar with the tranny.
I too have to say the lack of manual trannies is the fault of the dealers. They never want to 'take chances'. Ditto colors. All the want in stock are safe colors. Anything odd seems they are worried it may not fly out the window.
And finally the E-RMM is the rear motor mount one wants. Not too stiff, not too soft.
Also do the snorkle delete, And add a K&N or other free flow air filter. Helps.
And also comment: What else would one want a manual for besides to be able to hit 6,500 if you want? That is a big part of owning a manual. You are in total charge of the RPM gear etc at any moment.
And why i hate any sort of automatic. It is trying to guess what i want. And usually never knows.
I can bobble down the street in fifth at 32mph.. and just go for mpgs... Or be at a light and hit the gas and run it out to 6K rpm to beat the other cars...
When I want too.

I must say I miss the 6th gear!

It really reduces wheel hop and that shaky, bucking feeling from low throttle take offs. The engine feels way more connected to the transmission.

|Surfer||Thanks for the links. How does a stiffer motor mount improve acceleration off the line? Is the throttle more responsive?|

Only about $50, I think? Very easy to install, took me under an hour and I'm no mechanic.. Perfect fit.
Definitely a must for the 5MT owners out there.
This should help:
(Not a MS3 RMM, but exact same installation.)

|Surfer||It was a serious problem at first. It is not good to pull out into traffic an have zero throttle. I took the car to the dealer and computer had no error code. I thought maybe I had a bad TPS or throttle body. I did the same as you, swapping out the air filter for a K&N. There are almost now instances of stalling out now but the engine still is very under powered off the line. I keep telling myself I bought this car for economics not for fun. Secretly, I wished I went for the turbo.|

1.5 years and 30000km with MT so far. Still love it!
Just swapped out the stock RMM with a MS3 RMM last week and I noticed a huge difference in shifting. Much smoother. It also feels way more solid in low RPMs (like stuck in stop and go traffic), and much nicer off the line.

|Mesaman||Well, my MT is almost a year old and it stalled several times when hot outside. I changed to the K&N drop in air filter in the middle of summer and had better throttle response off idle and no more stalling. I only have 3200 miles so far as I only drive this for fun, so I still love the manual transmission. But I imagine it would get old fast in heavy traffic.|
