I remember reading that they can be swapped between engines, just the 99/00 to 01/02 swap could have a couple of minor lights lit (cruise etc). but that's on a cougar's wiring harness not a focus
sorry for not being of more help than that!

^it was you ... I couldn't remember who I'd bought it from. The cluster does infact read 0 miles; another reason I'm dragging my feet.
I have all the parts to do the proper swap, EEC-V pins, the trip controls, etc. Just no ambition.
It was a I4 cluster, wasn't it?
I'm not sure if it really matters though.

|vigdrtim||Did the gauge cluster come from a V-6 Cougar? I know the earlier Fox body cars had a tach which could be switched from 4-6-8. There's a couple of these Cougars at the local yard and I may have to try this out. I'm also looking at E85 and high compression for power. Looks like your Focus pulls pretty good up top!|

What I did was buy a Cougar gauge cluster complete. Then I pulled it apart and swapped the gauges into the Focus cluster. Everything works right off the bat but, the tach is actually reads wrong. The sweep range is the same as the Focus. I have not found a way to correct that yet. The light comes on @ 7.5k.
The plan is to wire in the full Cougar cluster. I'm hoping that then the tach will read correct. I have all the parts to do it, have just been too lazy to make the swap harness.
