It would be easier for them, but I need tuning for my dct. I wish I'd gotten a manual like I wanted but nothing was available and I needed a car.

Well yes, Its a dry doubleclutch system. Basically fluidless. Valve bodies require hydraulic fluids.

Yes, there is no "valve body" per se to the DCT, just electronic solenoid actuators. Thus the need for a tuner to make any significant changes.

Yes the shift points and pressure thresholds in an basic ATX tranny are adjustable via TCU programming but the actual engagement has always been limited by spring pressures, valvebody layout, and the torque converter.

Looking at the DCT pictures I'd say its ALL clutch material and programming unless perhaps there is eventually solenoid and servo upgrades which I highly doubt.

That's been the case for a lot of autos in the past 20 years. You can always remap shift points and pressure, the dct is a completely different design though.
