FocusedOnSVT I still think that if a person has passion and loves it it is definitely worth it. Maybe not to everyone else but to them it is. Its special to them.

sanford12 Too much money for less than stellar results is the usual end for mods unless you have a good ascetic sense and the ability. Most look like a grafted on afterthought due to poor execution or just plain ugly parts. My least favorite is the the new taillights that look like something off a circus wagon and next would be the blackout of lights. What a bad idea. Black car, black tires, blacked out lights and black wheels. You've just turned you car into black blob or a rolling lump of coal that you didn't have to wait for Santa to bring you. It's not only the absence of color it's the absence of taste right up there with flocked wallpaper.

Whether you're just tinkering with it, or making it a track beast, the modifications build a bond between you and the machine. It creates a feeling like none other. It gives you an escape, an ultimate enjoyment. That's what I love about my passion for cars.
Great input, Micah,,,,,

At 2 or 3 miles per gallon, tops, it will take forever to pay for a Tune, let alone a "Restomod" on a Focus. Do the math. Do your mods too, but don't kid yourself.

I've got a car I bought for $1500 in 1994. I've got about 5k in the motor, and 2Kin suspension over that period. Its now worth 5k. I'm looking to put about 7.5k in a headliner, body, and paint. That will make it worth about 7.5k to a buyer. I know it doesn't make financial sense, but I can afford it, I like the car but I don't ever need to use it. In the past, its been my daily driver. I autocrossed it in DSP for years. Its an old friend, and they still cheap, but they are not getting any less expensive at all.

There is no justification except that I want to do it for my own enjoyment. Autocrossing was hard on the paint on the lower extremes.

That1965 Lotus Seven is still pretty much stock. They came from the factory nicely set up. I have gone to some solid bearings in the rear suspension, and there are some extra frame braces in it.

That Cortina looks cool, you don't see many of those let along a Lotus Cortina. Is that a '63 Falcon in the last pix? Looks like it.
