FreshlyFunkTFocus Just wanted to offer my experience with the Recaro's. I am about 6ft tall, and weigh in at 240 lbs. I have broad shoulders. I can honestly say that having spent some time in the car, I like the seats. True, they really hold you in place but they are very supportive and very comfortable, if a little firm. At first, I thought they would bother me but now I am very pleased with the seats.

damianinpa 12T...that is too funny. This is exactly what I want my dealer to do, but, they won't. I too have had many tranny issues and other problems and told them I would like to get a fair value to trade it back and then I would buy an ST or maybe new fusion. I lease mine and am over the 1/2 way mark of the 36 month lease, but, they will only offer KBB value for my SEL which is mid-high 13's! Puts me 5K upside down which is too much. I'm trying to get them to give me more value, say $16K, but, so far I'm getting no cooperation even after complaining to regional customer service Mgr. If they won't work with me, I will have to ride it out, but, I'm dumping Ford at that point and will advise others to do the same. To your point..I'd take that deal. See if you can put a little bit down to close the gap. I test drove an ST2. Engine sounded phenominal. Recaro seats were tight though..something to consider. They are snug!

12_T_Hatch I am still working with the Ford Motor Company to see if they will buy back mine. Right now they have x plan for a new ford with me trading mine in. I want more then trade value so I'm still holding out. Not to mention my ride is back in the shop, so once it's back ill shop dealers and see what I can get.

Obviously I love the way my Focus drives, and more power plus a manual transmission is hard to walk away from. Where I get apprehensive is that without ford buying my car back I am going to get screwed in the trade. The vehicle they are offering me is a ST2 in the tangerine scream out the door for 25400, where they are killing me is offering me 19500 for my trade... That puts me rolling 4k in negative equity onto the ST. Heart says DO IT, my mind say wait till Ford helps by buying back my focus... Agh!!!
So whats the outcome? Did you stepup to a ST? Don't come back here w/ a ST, huh.[bootyshak

shineboy I would do it... I had DCT issues with my 12 SEL, trans out twice leaking like a sieve, vibrated at highway speed. Ford would not do crap for me. I traded in on a ST and did not get anywhere near your offer. I know guy who tried trading a maxed out Titanium with 8k miles and only got offered 16500 from Ford and Carmax. Your deal doesn't sound all that bad..........

KaputtEqu1pment you're getting 19.5 for yours? Hell, take it man. The ST is amazing, no regrets here. I only got 18 for mine, (granted i did have an 'accident'- tire blew out and car went offroading..)

unclebrud It is telling that they are not using the DCT in either the Fusion or Escape.

I drove in a DCT in an SEL hatch for 2200 miles and it was fine, but nothing special. Seemed like a normal automatic (except for the lethargic acceleration from a stop).

Hope the OP can do a buyback and get into an ST.

SVOMACH1 Mine left me stranded more than once and spent over 30 days in the shop ( including a complete trans rebuild ) in the first 9 months. Its definitely a problem because my dealership is working on them weekly and acknowledges the problem. My ST has no issues at all so far so I hope that continues. Definitely a fumble on Fords part.

12_T_Hatch We diss it because its given some of us a world of trouble. Just bc your daughter has had no issues doesn't discredit those of us who have had nothing but issues. Glad it works so well for your daughter, some of us aren't so lucky...
