|greg hazlett||Amsoil user/dealer as well and never heard or read anything about waiting 20K to switch to it....have been using Amsoil for 10K now and zero issues.|

|Sonic_HedgeHog||In waiting til 20K to go full synthetic after a guy that works for me (and is a huge Amsoil guy) recommended I wait til at least then|

On my last car, I ran all Amsoil full-synth.
However, I discovered (the first/sales dealer didn't even tell me about this! ) that my car has the 30K maintenance plan - which covers 4 oil changes in that time period. Those are done with Motorcraft Semi-Synth.
Now, I had them put in full-synth last time (and paid the $20 surcharge) but I'm curious what you guys think... should I just stick with the semi while it's free to me? Especially since it'll be changed every 5K or so since I have 15K on the car and 3 freebie changes remaining...
Once the plan expires, I'll probably start doing my own Amsoil changes again.

|JCH841||Long time ago I switched over to synthetic. My wife at the time, whom I didn't tell about the switch, remarked a few days later that the car was quieter. I also was able to drive in stop and go traffic with the (dealer installed) AC on in my truck and not have the temperature gauge go into the red. Kind of sold me on synthetic and I've used it ever since. As for a better ride, more power ...|

|RonMaiden||I've run M1 in all my cars for over 20 years and the biggest benefit is obviously the change intervals but with any hard driven vehicle synthetics maintain a better temperature consistency and resists burning or "coking" (on a turbo application) and still flows nicely at sub zero temps at engine start up. I've never noticed a different from my butt-o-meter but it's peace of mind that makes me feel better.|

|glocker||I only use Royal Purple. I feel like it runs better but it might be a placebo|
