You can find an example of most the different types Duane mentioned. Some cars i really like; clean cars, lowered and great looking wheels and then others are too extreme for me. I still like seeing the variety though

This Old Fart isn't sure where to draw the line, everything I've seen posted lately as "stanced" is a lot more radical than a drop & reasonable stretch on wide wheels.

Educate me on when it becomes "stanced". I'm pretty sure just dropping with SVT suspension & wheels doesn't qualify....
That's part of the problem-everyone wants one single definition of stance. Realistically speaking, there isn't just one specific 'stance'-flush, hellaflush, poke, battle stance, VIP, etc.-all of these are different types of genres within the overall 'stance' community. All of them have their own originations, followers, haters, clean examples, poor examples, etc. It's a bit more than just lowering a car and putting wheels on it, but generally speaking the way that the lowering and wheel/tire fitment is executed on the overall car is what determines it's 'general' place in the community.

Everyone who is anti-stance is usually against one or more different genres, but is accepting of others. The fact that it's so loosely defined should make most everyone accept 'stance', even if they dislike certain executions. You may hate a certain Mexican restaurant even if you still like Mexican food. You could even use a broader brush and say that you hate Mexican food but like to eat.

You can go onto StanceNation and look at the featured cars and realize how broad the overall community is. Not every car has hellacious camber. Not every car has 195's on 10" wheels. Not every car is scraping the ground while sitting still. Most every car is clean and has had a lot of detail/thought/math put into making their wheel/tire selection fit a certain way that they wanted on the particular model they're driving.

As currently described? By who's description?

A stanced car doesn't have to have 'silly' camber, just enough to get wheel/tire fitment. And simply judging by the picture I can see the lip of the rim, and that wouldn't be possible without having at least some stretch to the tires. The rear fender's rolled/pulled, so if these wheels aren't wide then some other set he used was.

Stance is relatively loosely defined and generally speaking the majority of those that want to assign a definition to it for some reason try to assign a negative one. If a car is 'done right' then it can quite possibly be stanced...
