drewts86 Okay cool, thanks for the input. Much appreciated. On another note, another of my presents came today. Just got my FS Werks Stealth exhaust.

Guess I'm going to have to try to make it out to St Louis for the FocusFest2013 and get in on the "build" contest thread.

Bwinkelsas the duratec uses O rings on the intake manifold, same idea as the throttle body. You would need to make a template of the ports / flange as you can not use the O rings, i have made a template just to see how well it matches and there is very little / nothing to be done. Only thing really that to be done is to polish up the runners.

I'm just going to use the intake manifold gasket to mark the head intake ports and compare that to the manifold to see if any material needs to be taken off the manifold. If it matches up perfectly first try I obviously won't bother porting it.

These "xmas gifts" as I call them were just gifts for me from myself. Wish it wasn't xmas so I didn't have to set aside the rest of money for family's gifts or I'd get even more parts.

drewts86 Just because the IM is Cossie made, doesn't mean it doesn't need a little cleanup of the surfaces as well as porting the intake runners to make sure they better match the head. Later on down the road when I'm ready to get cams, I'll probably pickup another 2.3 head from the junkyard, rebuild it with fresh cams/springs/retainers and probably have a P/P job done on it before I install it. I think that will be a better way to do it so that I don't have to leave the car non-op for very long.

Buickboy what are your plans for P/P? I wouldnt touch it unless you picked up the knockoff- then cleanup is in order.
