Blue5ive You have a non interference engine. Only the svt is an interference engine. Many auto parts stores assume all motors are interference cuz they truly have no idea. You should be good with a new timing belt kit unless there is something else wrong you did not mention or are unaware of.

As mentioned for pics, upload them to someplace like photobucket and then you can copy and paste the links to the photos here.

project2002 I'm trying to confirm if I have a non-interference engine or not? I went to the parts store to buy the belt and they told me it was an interference engine? How else can I conferm this without pulling the head?

bringler26 you need to upload photos to photobucket or another image hosting site then copy the img source over to here.

Correct. The regular zetec is a non-interference motor so you are okay.

project2002 Sorry guys. It was a typo. As stated in my discription it's a ZX3 with a Zetek. I did just take some pics but can't upload? So has anyone been here before? I have five weeks to get this running! Did I understand it right that just because the timing belt jumped it shouldn't hurt the head?

bringler26 Hasn't posted anything for awhile. I think maybe he just typed it wrong. Not the first time I've seen it called a zetek before
