Clutch pedal position switch Ford part # F5RZ-11A152-A
Also sometimes simply called, generically, a "switch assembly"

Try also Motorcraft SWE5020.

X2 on sailor's diagnosis.

sailor Had that recently with one of my vehicles, intermittent no crank from a clutch switch on it's way out....

The GOOD thing, is that you can dive under the dash on the Focus & get to it easily for testing/emergency repair.

You'll see one or two switches "tripped" by the clutch pedal depending on it's position (two if you have cruise). The one you want is at the back, pressed in by a tab on the arm when the clutch is fully depressed.

Emergency fix is to use a bent paper clip to "jump" the switch (plug into the connector) so it always thinks the pedal is depressed. This will bypass the "Safety" of needing to depress the clutch B4 starting, so make sure it's in neutral/clutch depressed before starting or you may take a surprise ride.....

This'll get you home, and you can replace the switch at your convenience...

Luck!

Car wont start

Lately my car has been acting up, starting sometimes and not other times. I had noticed over the past 6 months or so that sometimes i had to depress my clutch a couple times and push really hard to get the car to turn over. In searching, i have begun to think it could be the clutch pedal position sensor. I called Oriely but they have no part under that name. Is there a different technical name for it.

It's a 2003 zetec with 140,000 miles.

Also, could it be a fuse or relay issue. I am on vacation in arizona and really need to fix this so i can get back home to california for work.

Thanks
