Were the existing locks the same type that Ford sells, if so, did they order a new set and use the key that came with the new set? If not, how did they remove the existing locks?

|Robert1966||Well just got back from the dealership today and they removed the locks without damage to the rims. Installed my snow tires, put on the new locks (free of charge) and gave me a free oil change. Gotta hand it to them, they came through for me and I'm very happy.|

|Robert1966||Lots of great tips and I appreciate everyone's feedback! And for 2012silversel, that is indeed great news and I've forwarded the info over to the dealership. I really don't feel comfortable with 'cutting' the bolts off due to potential damage to the rims. I also stopped by a local tire shop and they guy told me they have a special bolt to take them off without damage to the rims. So my options are there and I plan to use them....will keep this topic updated once it's done....thanks again.|

If the wheel locks were purchased through Ford, the company that makes them is McGard, 3875 California Rd, Orchard Park, NY 14127-4198, Tel.# 800-444-5847 or 716-662-8980. The cost of the replacement key is $19.99 Canadian. If the wheel locks came with the car, the dealership should supply you with a key. Pass this contact info to them and ask, then demand they supply you with a key.

|StingRay||Yeah, I bought a lug-out kit from snap-on for when customers lose their wheel lock keys, and it's a snap. Take it to the dealer that sold it to you and tell them to take them off and either give you a new set of locks with keys, or just replace them with factory lugs.|

at my job when this happen, I do not have to "cut" them, that guy who told you that is a dumb idiot, what I use is a air hammer or "zip gun" with the sharp adaptor and just start air hammering at it sideway until its loosen itself, then I just remove it and puts new ones
Oh and if you know how to do it there is no danger at all to make any damage to the wheel, car guy at costco must just be an ignorant lol

|SkyPilot||There is no need to "cut" the nuts off, there are lockout kits available out there. I know Harbor Freight has one.|

|TheGlassMaker||Go to a legitimate tire place they have universal ones, for like 8 bucks each they will take them off. Had the same issue with my mazda but we bought it used.|
