The rain stopped long enough for me to check all 4 tires, could not find anything obviously wrong. it is still only on the front near side. seems to be more when i turn to the right than the left if that would mean anything.
Guess its a trip to the garage, for now im just going to turn off esp.

I have not been able to check for any movement etc as it has been raining here. Nothing new with that, at least the weather is working as it should
Will post back once I have had the chance to look.

Agreed - This was my first guess as well, thinking that if the bearing was starting to get loose that air gap could be excessive only when cornering...

"tsssss" sound to me would indicate the rotor is moving/flexing under cornering loads. Typical sound of a stone stuck in a pad, worn pads, rust buildup, improperly TQ'd lugnuts, worn wheel bearing or any other loose part you may thing of attached to the wheel.
Now the fact that the traction lamp comes on, to me that points more towards a bearing issue. There is a specific 'air gap' between the Wheel Speed Sensor and the Tone Ring. This is a fixed clearance. But if a bearing is worn/loose this clearance can move/grow. I can see where this could cause a lamp to light up.
But seems that if a bearing were bad you'd notice it under other conditions.
So I'm kinda at a loss as to what exactly it can be. But the simple things are making sure everything is tight and TQ'd properly. Jack the car up and wiggle the tire from top to bottom, there should be no play at all. If there is, it points to a bearing.
Also make sure the axle stub is tight, something like 233ft/lbs IIRC.

|nilskje||Esp sensors at the wheels = ABS sensors, to me it sounds like different tyre sizes, it take very little to upset the ESP system, it measures differerences it wheel speed.|

The noise started when I had the tires rotated.
The road / roundabout that I notice it the most is a newly laid surface without pot holes.
I think the brakes pads are ok because of the visual inspection I did on the front left wheel and the warning light has not come on for the brakes.
Will check the other wheels / brakes pads tomorrow

Were you hearing the sound before or after you had the tires rotated to the front?
It seems to me that what you're hearing is the brake booster working for either ABS, TC, or ESC.
If you're turning and going over a bump at the same time, its possible that you are triggering the sensor and what you're hearing are the brakes pumping the front wheel.
In almost all vehicles now with traction systems, they are brake based and people really need to take care of their brakes in order for these systems to function properly. If this noise is new, it may be worth taking to a garage for brake service. If there is air in the brake lines, or if your brake pads are worn too far down, it is possible for the system to be making more noise than necessary.
I'm fairly certain that if something was actually wrong with a sensor, it would trigger a service light and a trouble code.

Problems with ESP - Traction Control
When driving in a straight line car is perfect. When I corner sometimes not always I get a odd noise from the front left wheel. after the noise I hear ttsssss as though pistons or something are resetting to their correct place.
However on some large roundabouts the left front wheel makes a loud ttsssss noise and the ESP light comes on for a few seconds then it goes out.
If I turn off ESP the car is perfect in all conditions.
I have just had 2 new tyres, I asked them to put the new on the rear and the rear on the front for tyre rotation. I also had the tracking done.
I read in a post that the esp sensors could have been knocked during this rotation process.
I do not want to go back to that garage and I cannot really afford to go to a ford dealer so any help would be fantastic.
As the noise is coming from the front left, is that likely where the problem is?
Would knocking the sensor cause this kind of problem?
Do I need to buy new sensor or can they be repaired?
I have removed the front left wheel and checked for dirty conections etc but everything seems to be ok, I have not looked at other wheels.
Is it possible the car doesnt like the rotated wheels although they are same size.
