|pitchblack02svt||Been a while since ive been on here! No updates, unfortunately..everything was just put on hold for a while. After I got it all pulled apart I found no bearing left on the #3 rod. Lost interest for a little while, while I figured out what I wanted to do with the car. Been thinking about getting back into it and trying to get it going again the past couple days. Just need to save up the funds.|

Started getting a few parts on order finally, had to take up some of the black Friday deals!
Have the massive pro vct delete kit, massive lower mount bushings, cfm pcv delete, std zetec head gasket, and lower gasket set on the way and off the list. Hopefully I can get more on the way in the next week or two

So today i made a little more progress. Popped off the head and dropped the pan finally.
Got the head off and all looked good there. No scoring or gouges or any thing in the Cylinder wall. A bit of. Carbon build up on the pistons but i think thats normal for an engine with over 180k on it! valves and all looked good, little burnt but good
And when I dropped the pan all didn't go so well...
Looked really sludgey and quite a bit of shavings in the pan.
I the process of welding together a little engine cradle so I can get it up and flipped upside down and pop the windage tray off and check the damage done. Was 20 degrees out and dumping snow so had to cut the day short.

Oh for sure. Once you get it going it seems pretty straight foreward though.
Pretty much goes:
Drain fluids(I totally forgot to and made a big mess of coolant everywhere! Lol)
Start removing engine harness, heater hoses, Rad hoses, etc..
Get the header off and out of the way.
Get the lower dog bone/trans mount out of the way.
pull the intake, fuel rail injectors and stuff. And unbolt the stupid converter support bracket.
Unbolt the AC compressor and PS pump and bungee it out of the way.
Drop the struts(I just pulled them off completely), unbolt the steering linkage and sway bar end link to pull the cv shafts out.
Then pretty much unbolt the upper mounts and pull the engine.
Might of been an easier way to do it, but that's what I did

Yea I figured the hardest part is finding what to remove first.

|pitchblack02svt||You know, the most time consuming part for me was figuring out how to do everything. Never pulled an engine from a fwd car before. But I have about like 15hrs or so into what I've done, give or take.|
